Launching My First Product on Product Hunt
Launching My First Product on Product Hunt
On July 28, 2026, I launched my first SaaS product, ZecoAI, on Product Hunt.
It wasn't a viral launch or a top-ranked product, but it was one of the most meaningful milestones in my journey as a developer. For the first time, I shipped a real product to the public and received feedback from people outside my own network.
Within the first day, I gained 14+ Product Hunt followers and received my first upvotes and comments. Those numbers may seem small compared to large launches, but they represented something much bigger: real people discovering something I had built.
Why I Decided to Launch
For months, I kept telling myself that my product wasn't "ready."
There was always another feature to build, another bug to fix, or another improvement to make.
Eventually, I realized that no product is ever truly finished.
Launching isn't the end of development—it's the beginning of learning from real users.
That realization pushed me to publish ZecoAI instead of waiting for perfection.
About ZecoAI
ZecoAI is an AI-powered browser-based coding platform that combines development tools with AI assistance.
Current features include:
- AI Code Generation
- AI Chat
- AI Debugger
- Browser-based IDE
- Project Management
- Authentication
- Multiple coding templates
- Real-time code execution for supported languages
The goal is simple:
Help developers write, understand, debug, and improve code without constantly switching between different tools.
Preparing for Launch
Before launching, I spent time preparing everything around the product instead of only improving the product itself.
That included:
- Designing Product Hunt assets
- Recording product screenshots and GIFs
- Writing a compelling tagline
- Creating a detailed product description
- Updating my landing page
- Fixing performance issues
- Testing responsiveness across devices
One thing I underestimated was how much presentation matters.
A great product with poor presentation can easily be ignored.
Launch Day
Launch day was exciting—and surprisingly stressful.
I kept refreshing Product Hunt to see:
- New visitors
- New followers
- Upvotes
- Comments
Seeing someone I had never met interact with something I built felt incredibly rewarding.
Every notification made the months of work feel worthwhile.
What Went Well
Some things worked better than I expected:
- Clean landing page
- Fast loading speed
- AI-focused messaging
- Sharing the launch with developer communities
- Asking friends to leave genuine feedback
I also realized that launching publicly gave me far more motivation than building privately.
What Didn't Go As Planned
There were plenty of things I could improve.
I didn't have:
- A large audience
- Email subscribers
- Existing Product Hunt followers
- Marketing experience
Because of that, most traffic came from my own outreach.
Next time, I'll spend more time building an audience before launch.
Results
During the first day, I achieved:
- First Product Hunt launch
- 14+ new Product Hunt followers
- First upvotes
- First public comments
- Visitors from multiple countries
- Valuable user feedback
While these numbers aren't huge, they represent real people discovering my work.
Biggest Lessons
1. Ship Earlier
Waiting for perfection only delays learning.
Real users will always find things you never considered.
2. Marketing Matters
Building is only half the job.
Learning how to communicate your product is equally important.
3. Small Wins Matter
Your first follower.
Your first upvote.
Your first comment.
Your first returning user.
These moments build confidence and keep you moving forward.
4. Feedback Is More Valuable Than Features
One thoughtful comment from a real user can influence your roadmap more than weeks of guessing.
What's Next
This launch is only the beginning.
Over the coming months, I plan to:
- Add support for more programming languages
- Improve AI accuracy
- Build collaborative coding features
- Optimize browser code execution
- Continue collecting feedback from real users
- Ship new updates consistently
Final Thoughts
Launching ZecoAI reminded me that success doesn't begin with thousands of users.
It begins with pressing Publish.
Whether your launch gets 10 upvotes or 10,000, you've already accomplished something most developers never do—you shipped.
This is only the first chapter, and I'm excited to keep building in public.
